Been spending most of this week in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia (for those of you who don't know where it is :D) and it's been great and it's mostly because of smiles. I mean the city is great with beautiful architecture and some great sites and things to see but it's always the people and their disposition that makes it all worth it.
Went to see Simon and Helen and the rest of the New Internationalist Magazine gang here in Adelaide and they were very kind to let me intrude in their busy schedule. They were also very kind to share their smiles with me.
Stavros at the Eros restaurant on Rundle St, made a very tired, hungry, completely under dressed and slightly blue guy at his door and made him feel very welcome and at home with is warm and welcoming smile.
Same can be said for the lady at the Migration Museum who smiled when she told me that map i was trying to walk away with without paying (unknowingly of course, although i really should have know better than assume it was free :D). She made it all good with just a simple gesture.
Basically, just smile. It takes less muscles than frowning and you never know what good it can do to those you decide to share it with.
And here is Gerry practicing one of his special smiles LOL:
